Sometimes I work as an "associate books editor" for The Brooklyn Rail. I edited this piece for magazine, back in October. It was written by John Yau. John is a great poet and he is also a great critic. He wrote a superlative, book-length critique of Jasper John's oeuvre called A Thing Among Things. In this article he talks about a poet named Christopher Middleton. I'd forgotten about the article, until recently. I think it is really great and a pleasure to read and its assessment of Middleton is enlightening.
